I'm a new walmart cashier, how the hell do i start my shift?

It's probably a stupid question. But, I'm a new Walmart cashier, for the first five days, I just worked on the computer and then trained at front end. I'm finished the first bit, now how do I start my shift? Where/who do I go to when I clock in? I tried walking up to one of the supervisors today, but they were busy, and I just stood there awkwardly for a good 10 minutes before a manager saw me and put me on a register. I was told to go to a supervisor, but idk? I'm confused, it's so awkward for me I know. But what would you do?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Find a supervisor when they are not busy and ask them everyrhing that you are not sure of or concerned about. Since you are just starting this job it is normal to be unsure of how everything works out for at least a week or so. The morr seasoned workers and managers are probably used to the new guys looking nervous or confused. The worst thing you can do is assume something..always ask a higher up about things you are unsure about...its always better to ask than to be too scared to ask and then have a manager scold you for not doing something right. Think to yourself..What would Richard Gere do?

Wouldn't Richard Gere just say fuck Walmart and go and hire a hooker?

Don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions at a new job! It's better than being underprepared later

Most people start their shift at the beginning; but in the Wacky Wally World, maybe they start at the End of Civilization, and work their way backwards!

what would happen if i just showed up at wal-mart and got a supervisor to let me start checking out customers for free off the clock. I'm not a real employee and people are handing me money all day long. So. legally i see no issue with keeping the money. Of course i will have to pay income tax on it legally. But i think if i got a panhandlers licence first im good to go. If you cant sell stuff you dont own you were not selling it. I think i might be turning into a Clinton.
