I have a problem with physically ugly people as well, mainly because I'm one of them. However, your solution of getting rid of ugly people is flawed in so many ways... Have you even thought about what your suggesting? Here's just one possible argument:

If good-looks are judged like a pyramid, then you'd have at the bottom the "ugliest" looking people and at the top the "best" looking people. But, what happens if you take away the bottom level of ugliness? Who's at the bottom then? ..... The people who were "average" looking. Now, THEY'RE the ugliest in other words, the NEW uglies.

So, you get rid of them because they're ugly.... Who's next? .... Good looking people would be at the bottom now and supermodels left at the top.

So you get rid of the bottom, because they're relatively uglier than the top people, that's the idea, yes...? All that's left are the supermodels...

But, some supermodels are uglier than other supermodels. So, now those ones are at the bottom of the pyramid as the "ugliest" and they have to go too...

Eventually, if you have that mindset of killing anyone who is (subjectively) "ugly", then you may as well kill everyone who isn't in the 100 sexiest people alive super-list, including yourself, allowing those 100 to dominate and spread their physical perfection amongst themselves...

Until they reach the age of 30 that is... Then they're too ugly to live so they gotta go too...

So, unless you will happily put yourself and your friends and your family in that camp, then you are a hypocrite who doesn't truly believe in their horrendous solution!

Human beings are animals. We must be trained properly during the first 10 years or we become obnoxious. Parents are allowing the tv sets and movie theatres to do the parenting. Guess what? The movies encourage aggressive and obnoxious behaviour, and they also focus on the superficial aspect of looks.

Lack of real parenting.
TV/movies emphasising and worshoping beauty.
A downward shift in western values.

it is true that there are more attributes to a person than just their looks, although i find some of the commenters here hypocritical for saying that attractive people are superficial and aren't nice, since someone could be attractive and still have other good qualities. if you want others to respect your views, you should convey them in a prudent, respectable manner, or else you will look just as bad as the troll. anyways, i do think that all people are made for a reason, whether they're ugly or not, but ugly doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing. one can always make up for that with other qualities. only you can make yourself feel ugly, both inside and outside.

also, a lot of "good looking" people only may look like that due to superficial reasons, like they probably wear a lot of make-up or do other stuff to maintain their looks. the truly attractive ones are those who can look good without doing any of that, or naturally. that's why when you see pics of celebrities without makeup on, they look a lot worse than they usually do in the movies. so a lot of these "attractive" people may actually be quite ugly in their plain state.

My classmates in elementary school asked me why my eyes are so squinty (because I'm a chink) and they called me four-eyes. To me, there are two phases to ugliness something in which you are truly not comprehending. There is external ugliness, obviously, and internal ugliness. There could be absolutely beautiful people with ugly personnalities and mind sets, like yourself for instance. Sending anyone to any camp is not a good idea. You can just avoid ugly people. That's what I do, I have never had any ugly friends - but that's mainly because I find it easier to be with good looking people, rather than focusing on feeding their egos and we can just get on with getting to know each other and growing the friendship. In fact I prefer to have friends who are much better looking than me, then we never really need to talk about looks - or if we do the discussions are very short - like oh which of these two outfits would work better tonight, and then out the door we go, no endless futile discussions about weight-loss, or what else you want to change about your body, face or hair but really can't, blah, blah, blah, you can just go out the door and focus on having fun. Well almost everyone is less attractive than someone else, just find friends who are at the same level in looks and confidence level so that if you still want to talk every single day about how to drop ten pounds off your already perfectly gorgeous body you can do that with each other ad nauseum.

Most very attractive people are loaded in the looks department, but lack in intelligence. It has been proven, looks will get u a job over an ugly person, but good looking people do not last as long in a workplace, as an ugly person. Many ugly people are doctors, nurses, teachers, phycologists and have occupations, that will make a dfference to the world. I agree, because of my ugly face I think of suicide daily. I will never kill myself because of my family. Despite how I look they'll always love me. If I were to kill myself it'd be selfish. But I understand why someone like you would wish someone like me was sent to a concentration camp for ugly people. Looks CAN play an important role in some areas of life. There's research after research after research that shows that people who are deemed conventionally attractive in a given society will often have better paying jobs and people will respond in a more positive way to them. They do tend to procreate and some/many can lead prosperous lives. So, yes. I agree looks CAN play an important role in CERTAIN areas of life. But attractiveness has little to do with happiness which is measured against a lot of different criteria - and is definitely not just about the material like money. Happiness for many is a combination of many things including good health, good social support, friendships, strong family unit, fulfulling work, spiritual connection of some sort (like religion) can be a key to happiness for many and strong community ties. So... Being attractive in any given society - Peruvians will think of beauty in a way different to Nigerians, to Egyptians, to Malaysians, to Norwegian etc - is only a part of the picture.

Mass media and advertising and marketing generally has also conditioned many people that they need to look a certain way in order to be truly happy or successful. The women's cosmetic & fashion industries, for example, are worth many many many billions of dollars annually and MILLIONS is spent by large businesses convincing women that they need to do certain things & look a certain way in order to be a successful member of society - particularly 'western' societies or those heavily influenced by western culture. They need to wear certain clothes, perfume, make-up, handbags, accessories, shoes, the list goes on in order to appear attractive like the models in the pretty pictures.. Fulfilment in life comes from WHO you are and not how you look. This is something I fortunately learned in life from a young age. I was taught these values by my parents and extended family. I worked in an industry entirely focused on physical appearance as a model. I did catwalk & photography in many different countries. My 'look' was in demand in some markets and not others. So some societies liked a very tall, statuesque and athletic look & others preferred very petite girls to model for them. Beauty, attractiveness is indeed highly subjective.. And before anyone trolls me with "oh poor you, you were attractive", I know that my appearance DID also open certain doors. My appearance didn't however shape my ethics - beyond the fact that I believed and still believe that all people should be treated equally - regardless of their appearance. I now work as a nurse and I see incredible beauty everywhere. But of course this is not what this original post is about. At a superficial glance, it is about hatred and a serious lack of basic decency and humanity. "I hate ugly people" ... I wouldn't care if they were exterminated in gas ovens like millions of people in WW2. BUT. I actually seriously doubt that the poster is as horrid as many say. Nor are the posters who agree with him or her and try to twist the responses of people who say that the sentiment reflected is "ugly". They're not talking about anything physical. They're talking about he 'heart'. As I said, I'm sure the poster has many great qualities and hopefully will grow up. Good attitude, You're honest. The only thing I disagree with is the fact that they should go to camp. But I do agree that if you look ugly, deal with it. Stop trying to say that "oh my personality makes me beautiful cause it doesn't. You're personality will get you a good life and great friends but you're face shouldn't be confused. Not trying to sound bad, just being 100% honest.

It is normal to hate ugly people. If anyone posting here could be forced to marry someone hideous, then they would hate them too. BUNCH OF HYPOCRITES.

This is an interesting discussion. More than anything, I would like to see a picture of the person who posted this statement concerning their hatred for "ugly" people.

I would expect someone so judgmental to look pretty damn good. I mean, you would almost have to be a god-like person in order to say that the "uglies" of society should be quarantined.

I think you should be more concerned with working on why you think this way. It isn't normal, it's harmful to your health to be so full of hate over something so silly.

Ugly people: You had an opportunity to respond in an educated manner, and to prove that ugliness is only skin deep, but you have proven, to the poster and others, that you can posses both unattractive physical traits, lack of eloquence and no self control. The poster maybe ugly on the inside, but you, my friends, are both ugly on the outside AND inside. Educate yourselves in the ways of thinking, speaking, writing and how to argue and defend your opinions.

Everyone is ugly eventually in there life, age, horrible accident, bad fight, Sickness, all this can change yor appearence, and if this happens to you do you hate yourself cuz of your accident or age? Do you kill yourself cuz you hate ugly?

Who are you to judge??? If you have to put other people down to make you feel superior than it's all about you; you're the problem... maybe take a personal inventory soul search, get psychological help.

I guess it's your choice whether you want to make friends with them or not but actively hating them has more to do with your attitude than to do with their appearances. Just forget about them if they bother you.

If someone is so horrendously ugly that they are hard to look at, they should consider plastic surgery. However, you should love yourself and not have any issues with your looks before considering surgery.
