I hate this one holiday

Is it normal I hate this one holiday that most people love? There are usually 2 that come to mind, but nope it's not Halloween.

The one holiday I despise is Christmas. First of all, I'm not religious. "What about the presents?".... Well being financially depressed is NOT FUN! "What about spending time with family?"..... Every year someone in my family starts drama and unnecessary bs every Xmas. It's usually my brother. On the other hand, when it's me who started bs, I feel like the biggest loser and beat myself up for ruining the 'cheerful vibe'.

Oh.... another thing is that I feel very connected with the earth and when winter comes I feel dead inside and go through a massive depression; just like the planet (northern/western hemisphere).

People overhype this holiday, but I cringe inside..... Halloween is more like Xmas than the ACTUAL HOLIDAY! I don't mean inducing myself in a diabetic coma; no instead I thrive in being my witchy self.

Is It Normal?

  • As for the feeling dead inside. That is likely Seasonal Affective Disorder.

You can buy special light bulbs or lamps that show a close to natural sunlight spectrum, and cure it. Look up "SAD Lighting" online.

Do your research and find a credible long established supplier - and light up your life. Note buying cheap gets you inferior products that don't work as well as they claim.

  • Christmas is all about selling useless shit and an excuse to over-indulge.

The only thing I like about the holiday is that it marks the point in the year when the nights gradually start getting shorter again.
