I feel guilty

years ago when i was just a child, like in third grade, two people convinced me to show them my various body parts and i must be very easy to convince back then. it went on for another grade until teacher caught us and punished us... even had a p*do touch me inappropriately. year later i had started experimenting with myself and the worst part is, i had touched others too like in a play! now i am all grown up and those people are not near me or anything (except 1) and i feel so guilty that maybe they are somewhere recalling what i did to them and maybe they are really really upset about it and can't move on like i can't, from this guilt. i won't ever be able to forgive myself for this and i am so ashamed about it. i don't know what to do...

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

That's pretty common among children, and usually harmless. It's only bad when adults try to do it.

My mother had grown up with a little kid who liked to play "doctor" with other kids and got in trouble when he was caught with some other kids pretending to give them full-body examinations and diagnosing them.

He ended up being one of the nicest people she knew and an incredible father. He also carried a lot of guilt about it. But the fact was that he was just a stupid kid and never had bad intentions. I'm not sure if he was molested or anything like that; he was just genuinely fascinated by the body and pretending to be a doctor, never seeing how any of it was wrong as a kid.

Children are easily influenced and vulnerable, the blame is on the adults

Replaying it in your head won't do much good. You gotta do your best to not think about it.

I hate kids who do that stuff with other kids

I hate them too! I think it's completely appropriate to punch someone in the face, or kick em in the groin if they're trying to molest you.

A good throat punch works too. 🙂

Children typically are interested in body parts and such things are common. Stop worrying about it.

The cases of trauma from it are when the parents or other adults over-react and inappropriately discipline the children (some of the stories I have heard sound like torture to me).

You were just a child. Forgive yourself. Write yourself a forgiveness letter and read it aloud to yourself. Did you ever consider apologizing to the one near you?
