I feel bad saying this when i was drunk

I enjoy getting drunk because I get out of my shell, I actually think my verbal skills increase.

But I feel really bad about something I said the last time I was drunk. Somebody asked what a candle smelled like and I said “my grandmother’s ashes.”

I don’t know why I said that other than I was drunk and things just came out of my mouth without much thought. But I feel like I disrespected my grandmother who was very good to me. In fact I don’t like the fact she was cremated and I wish she was buried. I don’t like imaging her as ash stuck in a box.

Should I feel guilty? It’s been a month.

She's dead. What is she going to do? Come back and scold you for making a dark joke?

We all say things we regret when we’re drunk or high. It’s your true feelings that count.s

I think she knows what is inside your heart and realizes that it was an honest mistake made when you were impaired.
