I am totally obsessed with ted bundy

Me too! I love serial killers in general. They are so mysterious and Ted Bundy was so sexy! I think that killing college girls was totally wrong (especially since I am one!) but it is so intriguing to look at his motivations behind the killings not to mention the fact that he was so intelligent and committed many killings in WA (my home state!) Washington turns out so many prolific killers- I think it is all the awful weather!

Before Ted Bundy was executed back in 89, he had hundreds of letters from girls saying they were in love with him, to me it must be a sex thing, a danger thing. It all depends on the girl and her weird imagination, but I just think its based on their "turn on's" and the fact Ted ain't exactly an unattractive guy.

I think we are all a little fascinated by the darker side of humanity (I mean, that's why shows like Criminal Minds are so popular, right?), but it is a little unusual to be so obsessed with a particular serial killer. If it really bothers you, then yes, you should see a therapist about it; if it gets in the way of your relationships and such, definitely see someone. And if you ever get the urge to commit crimes like that, seek help immediately.

Then again, look how many books there are about Jack the Ripper or other serial killers... it's not like you're totally alone in that department.

You know that there are women that date and marry hard core prisoners serving their sentences, right? There is a psychological issue behind that. I think you might be caught in the grip of one and that you really ought to seek help before you land yourself in a really bad situation with some sicko who will torture you and murder you. There are enough of them out there and you're the perfect bait.

I think most people are obsessed with someone with a stranger personality or disorder (including serial killers). Like I'm obsessed with Adolf Hitler, it started off with just joking about him but now I just like knowing stuff about him. I don't even know anymore if it's a joke or not.

Sure it's normal...a lot people are fascinated with serial killers. Perhaps the reason you are so obsessed with him is merely due to the kinda person he is. He is a natural psychopath and very charismatic. People were/are drawn to this man's presence and others who are just like him. In reality people should be compelled to RUN THE FUCK AWAY from the likes of him. My advice - stop yourself from being obsessed with this psychopath.

My brother says that I am obsessed with Ted Bundy. However, I am a student and I'm studying psychiatric health and I am completely fascinated by him. Bundy was raised in a good home, and aside from discovering in his young years that he was an illegitimate child, he had a normal life. That does not mean that normal people cannot have or develop psychopathic behavior, but think about other serial killers such as Jeffrey Dahmer, or just criminals in general, there is often an early onset stressor from family etc. that caused the start of some trigger. Was Bundy intelligent? Yes. Was he attractive? Yes. And he studied psychology in school which is ironic, but he used his intelligence and charm to lure his victims. He is my hobby, along with researching things about mental illness and other criminals, simply because I want to know as much as possible about Bundy and those like him, as I plan to one day keep society as safe from those people as i possibly can. THat being said, Hybristophilia or "Bonnie and Clyde" syndrome is a mental disorder that a small handful of people have. Those who have hybristophilia find sexual or romantic desire in someone who has committed outrageous things. If you are not romantically drawn to the thought of Bundy, and there are no underlying anger issues etc. that make you sympathize with Bundy's actions, I would say you are perfectly fine. If you feel strongly about your interests in him or they persist in bothering you, then maybe you should see your doctor. :)

I am not obsessed with Ted so much as I am fascinated by him. I would never want to meet him in a dark ally, but I would have spoken to him if he was safely behind bars. He was a very sick and purely psychopathic human being who was lacking any kind of morality or sense of right and wrong. On the other hand, he was physically beautiful with mesmerizing blue eyes. He also had charm, charisma, and supreme intelligence. That contradiction is fascinating to me, and I can see why some women would become obsessed with him. It is a very primal and powerful draw women have towards sex and violence. Many women have fantasies about being raped and domineered by a man, but there is a big difference between fantasy and real life. I do not think it is abnormal to be obsessed with him as long as it does not spill over into real life violence or becoming a victim. Regardless of how charming he may appear on the surface, he did unimaginably horrible things that no human being deserves to endure. Was he sexy? He looked sexy, but his sexual gratification came from the pain and degradation of others. I would not wish that on anyone! So ultimately, it depends on your perspective. I would say that if you are having violent fantasies about him and such thoughts are becoming beyond your control, then seek professional
help. It is not healthy to always have Ted Bundy inside your head. Never forget what he is, and what he was capable of!

yeah im obsessed w/ him too. its not that i agree w/ anything he did bc of course he did very wrong. but hes so hot and sexy. and also, the power and danger thing definitely plays a HUGE role in the attraction. being a girl, i am so turned on by a dangerous, powerful guy but of course, then you gotta think straight and understand that he did terrible things. a gifted person gone to waste, in a way

I think the obsession with Ted is normal. I think if you want to be like him or romanced by him, then you're nuts. The man ruined hundreds of lives, caused so much emotional pain and loss(to his own family as well as the victims'), tortured and murdered innocent people, some he kept alive for days ,had sex with bloody, dead bodies until they were rotting (can you imagine the smells, the flies, the maggots and worms?), took heads home with him and applied make-up and used them for sex, raped, tortured and killed a 12 year old LITTLE girl and left her body in a pig pen and was a narcissistic a-hole untl the very moment he died. And these are only the things we KNOW. He confessed more things to Bob Keppel that were so gruesome Keppel said he would never speak of them and would take them to his grave. Sooo...I think fascination about how someone so gifted could be so insane is normal, but be realistic when you think of him. He was a cold, cruel, extremely sick human being.

Oh my god. Is it usual? Yes. It is normal? No. You wouldn't believe how many girls are obsessed with Ted Bundy. Yes, he was handsome and charming, and if you met him, he would probably murder you too.It's not a good thing to be obsessed with serial killers. It's not good psychologically or emotionally. By having an obsession for him you will subconsciously try to find men that have his characteristics, which will probably get you killed.

i read an article about his ghost huanting the flodia state prison where he was executed and the graud could get fired if they talk about him just saying but i guess people are always facinated with the dark side

I feel the same way about Ed Gein and Jeffery Dahmer. Ok I wouldn't call it an obsession but I just find them fasinating serial killers.
True what they did was wrong and twisted but there is just something that is just cool.

Could be the psychology side of it, or maybe you have repressed anger and identify with him? I don't know hey, I find serial killers extremely interesting, and Ted Bundy was certainly an interesting case because he was so well liked. Still, perhaps you should sit down and give this some thought as to why you are so obsessed with him. Whatever you do, don't imitate the dude...
