I’m afraid of death, but because of how fast it is

I’ve endured many tragedies and sad deaths in my life, and I fear death horribly.
It’s not that I’m afraid of what happens after death.
It’s just knowing how fast things can disappear.
One moment they’re alive, breathing, feeling, thinking, and in the blink of an eye, they’re lifeless and dead, their personality and life having been released into the void of death.
It makes me almost cry thinking about it...
I don’t know if anyone else has thought about it, most people are afraid of death because they don’t know what happens after, but I’m afraid of it because of its effect.

I fear not seeing my children grow up.

    I don't fear death.
    I very much fear pain.
Or old age, where your body fails you.
My only regret is things I would leave undone, my pets that someone else would not care for as well.
