Just wondering why and how people do it? Like say your brother or sister or Mom or Dad say “I’m leaving to go to the store, I’m coming back in 1 hour.”: and then they end up leaving for years and years and never returning again? If you really wanted to “Skip town” or “Live a new life”, would you just disappear from everyone who counts on you?

I've thought of doing it before. A lot of people in my life are way too whiny and fail to understand that they're in their situation because of some of the shitty decisions they made in life. Sometimes I want to pack my stuff, get in my car, and just drive to another state. I'm not materialistic, I've got money saved, and a 800 plus credit score. It really wouldn't be too hard for me to take that lone step.
Usually it's from people who dont have all those commitments or feel like they have said commitments that up and move.
In my opinion abandoning family like that is worst than treason.
I dated a girl who broke up with me because I didn't hate Trump enough for "splitting up a family" (it wasn't the only reason, but it was one of the straws that broke the camel's back). The instance in question was about a Guatemalan woman who was going to get deported back to Guatemala where her husband and other children remained
How in the fuck can someone get pissed off about splitting up a family but give the mother who split the family up a free pass?
For the illegals. Wait in line and fill out the paperwork. Christ most of the time it takes years before they deport you. So if you just hope the goverment doesnt deport you, and if you get deported. That's 100% on you. You broke the law.
We should have an absolute zero-tolerance policy for illegal immigration. On that same note, we should make legal immigration far easier than it currently is. A lot of people don't even bother trying to apply for citizenship legally because the process can take up to a decade and there's still no guarantee that you'll be approved unless you invented Alibaba or are a world-class surgeon or something
I think we should have a sparknotes citizenship test in english.

That's complete bullshit once you see what language road signs and food packaging must have on them.
And so what if we ONLY accept the smart ones? Get the cream of the crop that way. I dont want an illiterate surf class made of illegals. Its stagnating american illiterates that normally fill those jobs. I think we should remove the born in america citizenship rule too. Parent has to live in America (no visas)
The last place I worked had a lot of Venezuelans who fled the current regime down there. Almost none of them are legal citizens, but no one where I worked wanted to throw them under the bus and call immigration because getting sent back their home country was viewed as a worse fate than going to an American prison. I've got something of a soft spot for people who had to flee their homes out of concern for their safety or health. The "cream of the crop" candidates will be living a good life whether in their home country or in the US, so I feel more protective of the people who have no prospects and are desperate to make a livable life for themselves
