I lost my rabbit. Just disappeared. I don't know if I'll ever recover because I'll never know what happened. If she's dead or alive, happy or miserable, full or starving. I will NEVER know.

Once my cat just disappeared for 2 days (we found her, thank god) and i was about 7. Probably some of the worst few days of my life, i asked everyone at school if they saw her and asked all the neighbors and wouldnt come inside from looking for her. Nowadays itd probably be the same, no matter species of animal, for me. Good thing i have no dog to disappear! And im now more careful to not let my cat go missing like that

I recently lost my dog we've had since I was 13, he passed on due to old age.

He was. His name was Jay and he's a shepherd-collie cross. Once he actually got lost while we were on holiday for 11 weeks and we had to go home without him, but we DID get him back. Whenever we went for a walk he was obsessed with his football. And whenever he wanted attention he would sneak slowly over to you and then look up at you with seal-pup eyes like Puss in boots. I miss my Jayboy.

if I had a dog who disappeared given the situation I would attempt to look for the potential whereabouts.

Example of this, one time my friends dog disappeared and then she just came out of nowhere scaring both me and my friend.

Been there, done that! It was a horrific loss that still haunts me to this day, and I lost that pupper in 1992. 😞
