I've burned several skillets, by forgetting to turn the burner off?
never had that problem
soon as the foods done pans go on the butcherblock countertop and foods on plates then the pans are in the sink soakin before i eat
ive left the oven on but it clicks as the element cycles on & off so i usually catch it quick enough
shut off as soon as done cooking! DUH
Like, turn it off when you're done cooking the food.
Stay and watch your food.
I'm always paranoid about that sort of thing, so I check my dials over and over to make sure they're all pointed at "Off". I do it every time after I'm done cooking/eating, before I leave the house, and before I go to bed. I just don't feel right otherwise.
Omg the number of times I March ba upstairs to do one last final check is insane. Then sometimes on my way to work the firetruck goes the way my apartment is and I have a mini heart attack
I do the same!
I also always have to check multiple times to make sure my doors are locked before I leave or go to bed, and have to watch my garage door close all the way before I leave, even if it isn't a windy day (as the wind sometimes messes with the sensor eyes that will make the door go back up).
Set an alarm on your phone or buy a timer and put it by the stove put it for an hour
Install a smoke detector close to the stove that'll sound when a pan statrs to burn. It's a pain in the butt sometimes but it'll help you avoid burning down the house.
Make a habit of turning the stove off before moving the food from the frying pan to your plate
I never left an oven on. Dont wanna burn down my house so it's on mind to always turn it off. Doubly so for the stove since I have a gas stove.
