How the fuck do you americans know where cardinal points are?

Cardinal points are just a geography concept for me, but Americans know how to say something is to the east, to the west, to the south, to the north, northeast, southwest and all that shit! HOW???

Another foreigner question: how the fuck do you remember stuff that happened "in the spring", "in the winter", "in the summer", "in the fall"????

I can only speak left, right, front, back, and months of the year. I feel I'm behind y'all.

North Americans, did you even know we (some of us) don't know what you mean when you mention a season (which changes with the hemispheres, remember that?) or a direction???

    I think most western countries know this stuff, althoigh when asking for direction we usually say left-right-etc. But knowing when something is north-south-etc is also useful

        Except the OP is Hans.

        Remember that in the Northern hemisphere, we have the northern star. Down under the equator, they have to take 4 lengths of the Southern Cross, turn right and go half a length to find south.

        It’s messy. Hans should just buy a GPS.

      Shadows from the sun and moon give a good clue as to direction. You do have to adjust as to where in the sky the sun and moon are... but, that's quite easy.

          My grade-school did. We even built a sundial and was told that if our parents permitted for us local to the school to visit it at night with our parents or an older sibling when there was a bright moon and look at the moon shadow it cast.
