How long does your soap last?

I went online to see how long a bar of soap lasts those who use it in the shower vs. body wash. Some said a week, others said months for one bar to melt. I literally use one bar every other shower or every 2. I use dove and it just melts quickly. Once in a while I will use a deodorant soap like dial or Irish spring, safeguard, etc, but they melt just as fast. I do have hard water. I noticed my soap bars melt quicker in my shower compared to the showers I would use in a hotel room. I take about half hour showers with a loofah and wash cloth. In short, I go through soap very quickly lol luckily it’s not too expensve but those trips to Walmart can be tiring! Oh, and I don’t like liquid soap and feel that would just go as quickly too. I can’t believe someone told me their one bar of soap lasted 9 weeks. Another guy told me a 3 pack of Irish spring lasted him 3 months while visiting Europe. Gross! How often do you bathe? I shower every day; sometimes twice if I go to the gym mid day. I like to be clean and I know people who shower way longer than me and don’t have this problem with their soap melting so darn fast

This is madness. Ivory makes a liquid soap for sensitive skin that comes in a big pump. It lasts ages. I also use baby soap sometimes, that lasts ages too. Also...half hour showers are a bit much, no??? You're doing more harm than good to your skin. You should also keep the soap away from the water when you're not using it. That may help a smidge.

Bar soap used to be bigger and last longer. Now it's smaller, melts faster and costs more.

Thank you for making me feel like I haven’t lost my mind lol you’re right, the bars have definitely decreased in size. You’d think the intensity was better— kinda like how the detergents are nowadays. Half a cap per wash since it’s so concentrated

I really don’t understand why it melts so fast. I know so many people who spend way longer time in the shower and don’t have this problem lol

Maybe you should just use liquid soap ..
That way you control exactly how much you're using ..
Why don't you like it again?

I think I may be allergic to it. Makes my skin itch terribly. Even as a kid when I would use the liquid soaps designed for children.. you’d think the bar would cause itchiness lol

Anything is worth a try right!? I do use dove unscented for sensitive skin. Maybe I can try the liquid version of it. Thanks for writing :) and being so friendly 😊😊

hair on men causes more of the defective soap to come off the bar. the goal is to have the soap go down the drain so you replace the bar. the bar is engineered to do that .

i use a hard bar shugar soapworks. last about a month if i keep it dry. its 5.80 online but i get it for one buck at the dollar tree. its not that floating soap pumped up with air , its a solid bar made from coconut oil. i use it as hair face and body soap . also unlike animal waste fats everyone else uses the fats dont go rancid so you smell a lot better, i was haveing an stink
issue and realized it was the soap causing the stink.

a lot of bed and breakfast places use it and give the guests boxes to take home because their customers love it. I bought 50 boxes.

I used to use regular bar soap, and that always lasted quite a while. when I used body wash that lasted the longest. now I use all natural soaps, and one bar usually lasts about 2 weeks maximum.

No matter what brand it is, mine lasts at least two weeks. So you're doing something wrong.

I don't understand how you could use so much. Your shower would be a mess.
