How hard is it to wear a fucking mask?

Okay I know half of the country believes masks are bullshit and the other half hate wearing them but are at least smart enough to. Is it normal for such a large percentage of the population to be so fucking stupid? I mean seriously unless you have major health problems, how fucking hard is it to wear a fucking mask?, you ignorant self righteous assholes

And how hard is it to cover both your nose and mouth? I keep seeing people wearing masks that cover their mouth, but not their nose. Cover both your nose and mouth!

Some multiple use masks are a bitch to breathe in. I used to work in a coffee factory, hot conditions with breathing in a mask is an fucking labor. So most of us just breathed through our noses.

Try breathing when you have COVID-19. Or think about the other person breathing when they get COVID-19. Please cover both your nose and mouth when wearing a mask.

COVID-19 can spread through the nose, not just the mouth.

I breathed just fine when I had covid. The coughing was bad but I just toughed it out.

It can also spread through your eyes. So everyone is just gonna wear full masks? I pity the easily robbed store owners that have to put up with this shit.

Not everyone can tough it out. Some people die from it. The only way you can get it through the eyes is if someone coughs or sneezes in your eyes because, um they weren't wearing a mask properly.

Please wear a mask properly in public.

masks don't do as much as people think, if anything; cloth is permeable so the virus is still transmitable through the air and escaped moisture from your breath that builds up inside the mask. People wearing masks just like to think they help because they like the sense of control over the situation they feel, grasping at any solution that sounds feasible. I still wear a mask because it's illegal not to where I am, and the possibility of the tiniest bit of effectiveness in stopping the spread.

It shouldn't be illegal to not wear a mask. It's not illegal to blow cigarette smoke in someones face (as much as that would start a fight)

If you are immune compromised the standard flu is enough to kill you. Old people that kick the bucket over the flu is completely normal.

The plague isnt that bad 99.8% of average people will make it through fine. Now if it was like Ebola and would turn you inside out if you got it with a 70% chance of death then I think people would be wearing masks.

Look up the science wearing theses masks are actually bad for you. Just like certain diving equipment is bad for you and kills scuba and freedivers alike for trapping in bad air with is exactly what these masks do just not as severely.

So its beyond dumb to wear them. If your do high risk stay indoors. But your doing yourself no favors by wearing one of these cloth masks. If you must buy a proper mask sych as a gas mask or one with actual filtration not just a cloth "screen" see i have to wear one of these fucking things 15 hours a day 5 days a week for work. Im taking them off first and every chance. If you have a problem with that well i trully don't give a shit.

The only masks that work and provide decent protection are the ones with a HEPA filter you have to swap out. But those are expensive and sold out everywhere. Best to let the elderly buy them, as they are in the highest risk group.

I am really looking forward to this virus being eradicated, so we can get back to our normal lives.

PS: I hate how social distancing has turned pretty much everyone into an asshole. Everyone is giving you a death stare, as if you invented the stupid virus and are the only one spreading it around. Everyone is avoiding everyone, as if they were radioactive. And then we have the idiots that bitch you didn't give them enough room...
Because if we don't have a big enough space for a small aircraft to park between us, we'll get infected.

Human inventions can only bypass natural selection for relatively minor things. Some people kick the bucket from being in the same room as a peanut. If you are a whale of a human your gonna die in your 40s but it's your choice to do it! To me that's beautiful. The choice to choose bad lifestyles, the freedom to change it.

I ticked "Not Normal" but in fact it does seem to be "normal", in the sense of common, for many people to allow themselves to be lulled into a false sense of security about the pandemic and take risks which not only endanger themselves, but also others.

I use a mask and gloves when I have to go anywhere there are other people and try and observe social distancing, the latter being difficult when others are ignoring it.

I hate using a mask but I do it anyway: I have COPD, which often makes breathing difficult at the best of times and the mask exacerbates this. I also have heart disease and am 73, so in the highest risk group in terms of survival rate if I get covid 19 - 3 or 4% statistically.

        • Mammal-lover

Nope. Look up how to use disposable gloves. You touch a contaminated surface you throw them out and put on a new pair. Any shopping or touching of personal products while wearing those gloves us only causing a buildup and easier spread of the virus thusly contaminating snything and everything you touch with the dirty gloves wich rhen get transfered to you the second you touch said goods without the gloves. That soda the candy bar and even the box of cereal. Everything not to mention you put others at a higher risk by not using them properly. Wearing a mask puts you at a increased risk as well.

Basically anything and everything you can do wrong you are doing like a fucking retard who cant figure out touching a hot stove will burn you.

Oh thank you so much, juvenile personal abuse always makes me change my mind about facts I've researched and decided to act on.

I use disposable gloves for brief occasions as I described for my own protection: I'm old with both heart and lung disease and according to statistics, have only a very small chance of surviving covid 19. If masks put the wearer and/or others at increased risk I wonder why health workers use them? I guess they haven't had a benefit of your superior knowledge or your personal abuse, right?

Q filtration device combined with a seal are the way to block airborne pathogens. Cloth puts you at harm from breathing dead air and people are being hospitalized from it. Does wear them short term. Talk to any hospital worker of whom I know several and they all take them off when not interacting with "guest's" they aren't wearing it for 8+ hours straight. Wich is only harmful.

You still aren't wearing gloves properly. If you wish to protect yourself from covod use them properly or frankly like i said before your just being an idiot

I'm not wearing it specifically because the goverment wants me to wear it. Masks wont stop an airborne virus since it can get into your eyes. I'm not gonna do something the goverment wants me to do. If some grandmas have to die fine, it's a plague tons of people die. 200,000 people dying isnt that big of a deal in a population of 330,000,000 people especially if most of them are old/ are already at risk of the normal flu.

Covid is just a more contagious flu, slightly worse feeling wise (I got it) but since I'm a somewhat healthy young male I dont have to worry about it. If the goverment really cared for it's people it would just isolate the people most at risk, not the entire population. With a virus this contagious you ain't gonna starve the virus of a host. The greater good here is let the virus run its course, it's just gonna be another seasonal thing. You cant stop and restart an economy every time theres a flare up.

What people keep missing is that it isn't just about a small proportion of the mainly elderly (and disproportionately minority) population dying.

The long term effects of this virus are far from clear at the moment, and they won't become clear for some time, possibly not for years. Think of chicken pox and shingles. Even though young people might get through the acute infection fine, this is definitely not "just the flu", and they may suffer permanently reduced lung function or some other weird aftereffects years or decades down the line.

It's incredibly stupid and short-sighted to treat a novel disease as casually as some people are.

What a bunch of juveniles we must look like to the rest of the planet, with all of our pride and arrogance. We have the highest know number of covid cases and the highest know death count and the highest debt and the highest murder rate and the highest number of obese people and the largest income equality gap on the planet and that's just to name a few. mask does not stop the virus, the virus is microscopic and is transmitted through cloth, the mask you need is a half face hepha filter mask. and when you wear a mask your body does not rid itself of all the co2 you breath out, so you are not getting all oxygen when you breath in but co2 you breath out also. that is why some people get light headed and pass out. of course there are medical reasons also, like asthma, to name one.

It kinda depends, a mouthmask's purpose to 'protect' others from your potentially contagious breath.
It's somewhat of a last defense safety measure, but if you're talking to a person with a mouthmask on or even standing next to them for over 10secs, you'll have potentially infected eachother anyway so yeah..
