How does the ouija broad work?

I’ve been interested in how things like the ouija board work for a long time now. I’ve read about theories of how it works such as ideomotor effect. I have a ouija board and I was playing with it on my own the other day and the planchette was moving. It was able to answer questions that I don’t know the answer to and in the past it’s correctly predicted things in the near future. I don’t understand how it could do this if I’m subconsciously moving it. I don’t normally believe in stuff like this but it did kind of freak me out especially when once the board spelled out “help me.” Then when I asked how I could help it, it replied “let me out.”

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • You just tell that board it needs $50 or a Get Out Of Jail Free card.

  • When it starts moving by itself, on a level surface, then you'll know you got something.

  • It mostly works via the finger of some bossy pants friend of yours.

  • You can't use one alone so normally it's -
    Someone else messing with you
One or more of you subconsciously moving it
Unleashed a spirit that will eat your face later on tonight!

I tried one once and it worked for me and the person I was using it with. We didn't ask it much, but the few things were did ended up becoming somewhat true.

I wouldn't use them anymore because of what people claim - they open doors for spirits to enter your life.
Just like buying things at yard sales. You don't know what you're buying or it's history.
You buy some chair cheap without knowing some guy overdosed and died on it. No thanks.

  • That's definitely creepy. But those are the only explanations I know of; either you were subconsciously moving it, or...ghosts.
