How do you deal with a religious person that looks down on you?

Say you believe one thing and they believe another thing. You don't mention your beliefs unless it's relevant. They start a religious conversation with you, it doesn't go well and they resort to name calling and they literally say they're better than you. What is the best response? I tend to attract this type of person a lot.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

If the person is Christian and you want to be petty, respond to their dickishness by saying "well that's not very Christlike"

Respectfully disagree and walk away. Always be the bigger person and don't let them stir up hate against the religious in you. People who have a serious hatred for the religious always have issues.

Dont talk about it. If they bring it up try to be respectful but I dont think it's good to try to portray yourself in a dishonest way either to avoid hurting their feelings. Its best not to talk about it.

Their religiosity is worth less than nothing and they need to be helped. Let's hope their wake-up call is only as painful as it needs to be to get the message across.

There's probably not much you can personally do.

One time some Jehovah's Witnesses came to my door when I was in college just chillin in my apartment, and I told them I was a witch. They left rather quickly. 😁

    Same as everything.

Depends entirely on the location and there being witnesses or not.

Not really a debate, beliefs as a whole are not debatable.

Remember there is very little absolute proof or fact to prove christians right or wrong. Not unlike most things we as a people elect to believe. There is some basis of fact and the rest is based on faith that you believe what you've been told or taught.

Whether it be from the Quran, Bible, WHO, CDC, or Dr Fauci. It seems in today's world even the scientist and people who are supposed to be factual have sold their souls for their own agenda. There I will use an old religious quote. It seems the root of all evil is truly money 🤑

Why can't you just point out what you feel is good and right about your religion. Paganism, why do you like it and what do you think is right and good about it and do you have facts or evidence to back it up.

The thing I dislike about most people who want to talk about religion and why they believe as they do, is the only thing they can do is say why your beliefs are wrong or unacceptable.

If you believe that the religion and devotion to girl scout cookies is the best. You should be able to point out the positives and good about it, and it will or should sell itself. If it doesn't you might want to give it some thought, as to why not? However, in a long run it's your beliefs and you are free to believe as you wish.

You should not need to put down somebody else's religion or beliefs unless you just want to make your beliefs open for argument.
