How do i get out of my japanese food addiction?

I have an unhealthy addiction to Japanese food, if not most of the times I think of Japanese food and I end up ordering a lot from my local Japanese restaurant. Sometimes when it comes to breakfast I always think about sushi, miso, fish rice bowls and etc.

How do I not even think about it, I need help.

That's such an oddly specific addiction lmao...

I don't think it's harmful unless you're overeating or wasting money

If you make it then you have to put effort into it and take time, so it's harder to binge

Idk don't. Japanese food is really healthy if you don't buy into the low carb fad.

I get the impression that you find it to be a bad habit because you spend a massive amount of money getting takeout?

Easily solved. Chill on the takeout for a few weeks and that alone will save you enough money to buy the staples required to learn how to make basic japanese food.

A lot of the basic ingredients are shelf stable & can be ordered online...rice wine vinegar, yuzu, ponzu, nori, sticky rice, miso, wasabi- if you can get it, try REAL wasabi- life changing.

If you like sushi, get a mat & learn how to make it properly. It's really easy. The only thing you might have trouble finding is sushi grade raw fish. You can find it, it just might take effort. In the meantime you can make veggie maki or used cooked fish or tempura

If you fucking loooove a certain type of food, especially if it's healthy and nutritious, learn how to make it yourself. You'll save shitloads & you can experiment & have fun.

Move to Japan. It will lose it's appeal and become mundane.

I have a tendency to overindulge in pasta if I don't watch it. It's possibly the only food I could have for every meal and never get sick of it, and I ate it like it was going out of style all throughout high school. It doesn't help that it's quick, convenient, can be made in one pot/pan and doesn't require a lot of preparation, cheap, and also very versatile.

It's really easy for me to feel like cooking one of those pasta dinner kits, macaroni and cheese, or spaghetti when I've had a long day, am just not feeling up to cooking, or am starving and don't want to wait. I will also admit that I'm pretty lazy when it comes to cooking and even though I enjoy making something nice every once in awhile, I am not someone who likes to do a lot of cooking all the time.

The key is willpower, especially if you can just go pick up this food any time you feel like it and the only thing stopping you is yourself. I like to try to keep mostly healthy foods around the house and not give myself the option of overindulging on one type of food. I usually don't feel like going out once I've gotten all of my work and running errands done for the day, so I don't really worry as much about making a trip to the store or picking up something from a restaurant, which helps for me. If this is something you struggle with, you will need to exercise a lot of willpower.

Perhaps you should try meal planning and just tell yourself, "No, this is what is for dinner tonight, not Japanese food"?

If you just enjoy it a lot but are able to keep it in a healthy moderation, I don't see an issue, however.

Maybe you should try some new foods as well!
