What is with the pathetic quality of movies that Hollywood continues to churn out? It's like they are made for brain dead retards with no ability to think. Every now and then I see a trailer and think it looks quite good so I go to see it and just cringe at the formulaic, eye burning, intelligence insulting bollocks before me. So many people are like "ooh can't wait for Avengers". I just roll eyes and think humanity is doomed. Multi million dollar effects and every big name in Hollywood do not a good movie make. The Music Industry is just as bad if not worse. Are people really this stupid that they need to be spoon fed easily digestible rubbish that doesn't challenge their mind in any way??

    Thought I was the only one that hated Marvel movies. People think I'm insane when I tell them how crappy the writing is.

    I usually just watch the TCM (Turner Classic Movies) channel to see a good movie. Very few times have i not liked an old movie from there. Because im not a fan really of most movies made in the last 20 years.

      Dr Phil lol. I like watching him too. I don't watch TV either but people put his shows on YouTube. All the tragic brats acting out to try and get some clout!! They always drop in a few one liners hoping it will become their catch phrase and go viral.

        I have to agree with the idea that it is indeed basic capitalism. It is easily digested to suit the largest demographic possible. Sales are how they make back the production cost. Same thing goes with television, popular music, even pharmaceuticals and public education. When the group you try to reach gets too big, you can't include everyone. You just throw out a net and see who you can drag in, hoping as few people as possible slip through the gaps.

            Agreed. Good news is that there are plenty of amazing indie films outside of Hollywood, you just won't see most of them in theaters. You might have to search for them, but the best gems are hard to find.

        Have you seen Ugandan action movies? The production value of the movie is slow it loops back to being a comedy.
