One time a builder at my home stole my phone and wallet luckily, I confronted him about it and I could see through his lies and took the phone and wallet back and after this happened he was fired right on the spot.

Last time someone stole from me I was putting a burger king burger in the microwave at work in the breakroom. I left to go to the bathroom to take a piss and came back only to see my burger not in the microwave. I looked over to this black guy who had been standing near the microwave before I left and after I got back. I said "Who took it?" He tried to play dumb I said "you were right here you didnt see someone come to the microwave?" He said "naw it was just you" and I named the head of securitys name and said I'm gonna go get him to pull the cameras. He followed me all the way across this giant building and waited until I got to the security guys door to hand me the burger and said "Someone had left it ontop of the microwave. You must have not seen it. I just wanted to give it back because thats fucked up."

"Has anyone ever stole from you"

    Yes.

"What did you do to get your stolen goods back"

If I knew who did it and where they lived, I went down to their house, assaulted them and took it back. If I couldn't find my stolen property then I damaged theirs.
    Examples:

My pill whore mother stole my debit card. So I went to her house, tore the door off its hinges (because it was locked), knocked her on her ass when she lied to me that she didn't take it & tore her purse inside out. Debit card wasn't there but there were hundreds of dollars in cash and about a dozen full pill bottles. I took both the cash & the bottles & scattered the pills down the road on my way home.

Someone stole my PS4 & I had a good idea it was my neighbor, so when I saw him talking to my other neighbor I went over there & said to my 2nd neighbor while pointing to my first one "did he try to sell you a PlayStation". First neighbor runs to his house & that was all the proof I needed. Went to his house, door was locked, shouldered it in, saw him on the other side of the house in the kitchen & he runs out the back door. I don't bother chasing him because I know I won't catch him, start looking around the house to find his room all while his Mom & girlfriend are screaming & yelling at me as I completely ignore them because I know they won't do anything or call the police because they're a bunch of junkies & the cops will take away their kid if they see the state their house is in. Find his room but can't find the PlayStation so I break about $1,000 worth of property in his room & leave.

Back in the mid noughties, in the digital camera age a friend of mine who was a talented graffiti artist who did large mural type graffiti pieces on walls “borrowed” my camera to photograph his work. My parents had bought me the camera for my 21st birthday, I had only had it a few months to that point. I kept asking for it back and there was always an excuse, for a long time it was that the camera was left at his girlfriends parents place, who lived a long way away and they’d have to try find it when they were next there. Meanwhile I watched as he slipped into drug addiction.

Finally after, oh about 4 years I reckon, a mutual friend told me, “look I know where your camera is, where it’s always been.”
To my surprise he drove me to the local pawn shop. My friend had hocked it in many moons ago to score a fix, lying to me countless times.
My initial anger turned to sadness pretty quick.
The lies junkies tell, the bridges they burn.

A horrible housemate moved out and left me with unpaid bills and stuff in storage. Thankfully they left two bikes and I was able to sell those and got about $300 for them.

Another time at work a man walked in off the street and I found him alone in my office. He asked if there were any jobs available and I said no. It felt wrong so I checked my bag and he had taken only my debit card. I called the police and it turned out that he had hit many offices in my neighborhood. I ended up testifying in court and he went to jail.

Some guy I used to live with refused to pay leftover utilities after I moved out. Quite a hefty amount.

    I burned down his car.

I had a $70 skateboard I bought from a local skate shop on clearance. I took it to the skate park and a group of middle schoolers started talking to me while I was there, they waited until I went to the bathroom then jacked my board and left.

I never saw that board again and I couldn't get any help from authorities or anyone, but it wasn't a huge deal as I have others and it's a pretty cheap skateboard.

While I was living in a flat in a seedier neighbourhood than the one I am in now, I ordered more than one item online that never got to me even though the Amazon said that the delivery had been fulfilled. I think it was a postal worker who stole it.

Another time I received a package and there was a small hole in the packaging where someone had felt around inside to see if it contained anything valuable. I felt sick to my stomach.

I complained everywhere I could, multiple times, but I never got my stolen purchases back or any compensation. However, I noticed at one point that another postman had replaced our grouchy, uncooperative, verbally abusive one and the deliveries became more reliable from then on. I have moved out of that place now, though.

Someone stole my purse/wallet once after I had used my PIN to make a card transaction, and they used my card to withdraw 500 euros (over 530 USD). My bank notified me of suspected debit card fraud - that was how I found out. I reported it to police and after a long administrative process and much time wasted, I eventually got the money back through my insurance. It took a very long time to sort out a new card and PIN.

Oh yes, I have been taken advantage of by people who turned out to be thieves on several occasions during the course of my life. So naturally I can't stand thieves, and I don't usually feel sorry for them in their life circumstances. I'm not trying to be heartless, but people who steal, and mistake kindness for weakness bring it on themselves. Oftentimes the sort of people who steal are always playing the so called victim card, and are usually incapable of taking responsibility for anything in their lives. The real victims are the people from whom thieves steal!

It was mainly food being stolen by roommates, that I know of. If they ever stole anything else I don't know. No real way of getting that back I'm really interested in...

International bank theft syndicates in India have hacked interbank electronic fund transfer network and stolen $450 from my check account.

On another occasion, a Walmart clerk rung my debit card as a credit card without my knowledge and got $70. I was unable to recover either amount.

Yep. a few "friends" stole from me, or tried to fuck me over and an ex girlfriend stole money from me.

She stole 1400 Euro I kept hidden at home as last reserve cash. I did think of going mafia on her, but I decided not to, mainly influenced by my mom who is against all forms of violence.
So I kinda let that one slide... And I'm sort of ok I let her go, but I also kinda wish I hadn't.

That ex was an absolute bitch.

A gypsy did try to steal my mom's handbag one time. I punched him on the side of the head once and landed a second light hit on his back... MF ran fast!!! I would have loved beating him to a pulp.
