Handicap caused by stupidity

How to cope with a life-long disability caused by a completely stupid and pointless split-second decision?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I dunno, what is the disability, and what was the stupid split second decision?

Whatever it is I'm sorry it happened.

We're all human, we all make mistakes. Sometimes those mistakes have minor repercussions, sometimes it's major. Try not to focus on the fact you made that mistake, focus on what you learned from that mistake. That's what I've found works best for me at least.

We all do stupid shit from time to time. Sometimes we get away with it, and sometimes we only realize how stupid it was when it all falls to shit.

It's far easier said than done, but you have to focus on the positive things you have now and focus on moving forward.

I'm not disabled due to a stupid choice (although I've made plenty of those), but there are things I regret doing and not doing. When it comes down to it, focusing on regrets and might-have-beens is pretty damn toxic. That can totally ruin a life. Your options are presumably already limited in one way or another. Try not to let your mindset limit you even more.

You cannot change the past, but you can influence the future.
