Feeling extremely anxious when i see myself in pictures

I recently made some Photoshop work for a friend and they decided to post in Facebook. I saw the post and I felt extremely anxious. I don't know why I felt like that but it happens every time I see myself or something I made in social media.

  • I will never understand why people post so much pictures on sites like facebook. Why they post so much of their lives on there under a delusion that others care, or others even have time to see all their shit.

most of it is garbage like (takes pic, posts it) "Me walking to kitchen" (takes pic, posts it) "me on toilet" (takes pic, posts it) "eating backed beans, hashtag fart" (takes pic, posts it) "owww how cute our dog pissed". C"mon ffs.

  • Normal. I, personally, think that I look disgusting in photos, so I avoid them when possible.

Yeah, me too: I could count on one hand the number of photo's of myself that I like, the rest are of some weird stranger who looks nothing like me (I hope).

This post triggered an impulse in me to look up the Facebook page of someone who was my best friend in my late teens/early twenties. I was even the maid of honor in her wedding. I looked at her Facebook, LinkedIn, and her blog, but I did not reach out to her. I left without a trace as if I had never been there at all.

The first thing I ever said to my first ex-husband the first time I ever saw him was, "BOO". I was working at this radio station in the middle of the night, and there was a television station, an FM radio station, and a AM radio station all in the same building. I was going into the news room to checkout the Associated Press wire, and just as I got in the door there was this young guy I had never seen before. I wasn't expecting to see anyone at that hour, and it startled me so I said, "BOO". He was actually the technical director for the local nightly news, and had come down from master control to check out the police scanner to see if any news had broken. When he wasn't working he would look for news stories to break in the overnight so he could go get the story. I think he wanted to maybe get into news.

Anyway, the first time I met him we startled each other. I guess it's not really funny, but...

  • It’s probably just nerves of what others may think.
