Does my cat think the hoovers a monster?

She always runs away when it comes near, and sometimes she sits at the top of the stairs and looks at it meaningly.

      Did you use it on him, and now he enjoys the heat? I think the noise upsets my cat, and she associates that noise with some big, scary creature

        He used to run as soon as he heard it but we got him used to it, we turned it on and everyone stayed relaxed and didnt react to it, eventually he got the idea that it wasn't dangerous and slowly gained the confidence to approach it and investigate it. Now he loves the heat from it
