Does it sound like i'm fired?

I got hired for a contact and on my 4th day the manager called me and offered me a another job(permanent position) training was overwhelmed because the girl training ensured me that I didn't need GPS or anything that would help me for when I'm doing the job(I didn't take any notes during training) I got overwhelmed and on my last day of training I said I wasn't ready. The manger sent me back to the job he originally hired me for he said at the end of the work week he need to talk to me and think about if he would want me to be trained again. I since day one(march 15 was my first day or work) I worked 12 hours a day and only had one day off. overworked and very tired when I get home after work. Do you guys think I'm going to be fired for not learning a different job at the end of the week?

Its hard to say but one thing you have going for you is you are willing to work 12 hour days with only 1 day off every now and then. Im assuming you're in a first world country and often times workers like this are hard to come by. So you have that going for you at the very least. It should be hard to replace you.

No, you are not fired. He is a bit disappointed, but they can use you in your current job and he still sees positive potential in you.

He is interested in getting you trained in the other job... and next time you need to take notes and study harder; and then be ready to start (you will never be fully ready until you have been in the new job for some months - and your manager knows that: It's OK to ask questions and for help when you start your new job until you get the hang of it).

IF he's willing to train and promote you now... he is likely willing to train and promote you to a better position in the future... That's a very good thing.

If you're working 12 hour days and had only 1 day off, I don't see how they can afford to fire you. Sounds like they need all the help they can get!
