Do you think it's rare to have a healthy pregnancy at 40?

My mom was 39 when she had me she didn't have any problems and my cousin was 41 when she had her daughter healthy baby girl no problems but I keep hearing it's rare but then my parents and cousin had kids at that age and we don't have any issues? So is that rare or what?

Its not rare. Successful pregnancy at age 50 is rare.

But you need to be more cautious concerning certain things as you get into your very late 30's and 40's.

I'd say the real caution point likely starts above age 45.

My wife and I married later in life and for a while we thought she might be pregnant about age 50. We both researched the risk factors, what needed to be checked, and were preparing to proceed with the pregnancy. Unfortunately, she either was not pregnant or it was rejected very early on.

My mum had me in her 40s and I think I turned out fine, nothing wrong with me. I also know plenty of others who had kids in their early to late 40s, so I think It’s quite normal to have kids at that age.

Nope my neighbor got pregnant at 51 and her child seems like a normal, healthy and happy girl. She didn't even freeze eggs or anything it was totally natural and unplanned. She didn't think she was going to get pregnant lol but she's happier now so worked out for the best.

I think whatever works for you is fine if you're a good parent that's all that matters :)

40 isnt old to have kids. Its later than usual but I've known kids that have came from people who were 50 when they birthed them.

No it's not unusual to have a normal pregnancy at that age in the sense of the baby not being retarded, but it is abnormal for someone to get pregnant at that age.

"By age 40, an average healthy woman has only a 5% chance of getting pregnant per cycle".

Seems to be normal. People are living longer, so why not have kids at an older age...if that's your thing. Im glad I was young when I had my daughter, but thats my story.

It's not rare, but risks go up the older you are. However, it's perfectly normal for the pregnancy to go fine.

you're only as old as how used up your body is. you can turn back the clock with certain things, so it's all relative.

Its more likely to have birth defects if its a over 40 year old woman than if it were two cousins. I have 0 evidence for this but I heard it from someone on discord and he was not from alabama either.

Just because you heard from someone on discord doesn't mean it's true.

Ive heard the science says its not that bad. Just googled it again. Could be SJW propaganda which is always trying to liberate us into doing weirdo degenerate shit. But according to the new york times scientists say its not dangerous for first cousins.

But its always more about what they dont tell you. If you marry your cousins and your off spring marries their cousins and it goes on and on thats gonna cause alot of inbreeding over time
