Do you sing/hum/whistle/recite poetry randomly?

My boyfriend likes to sing songs in his native tongue quietly to himself when he’s working or studying or doing chores/yard work, or he will recite poetry as it comes across his mind.

He’s Native/Tribal Siberian and Slavic so it’s usually old ethnic songs or Soviet poetry, I don’t understand or speak any of the languages to his songs or poems.

He isn’t performing them, and obviously does not care if I understand or not, so I recognize the singing and poetry not to be meant for anyone but himself. He also doesn’t “try to sing well” as it’s a lot of fading in and out between lyrical and instrumental. I always found this behavior odd, I also don’t “talk to myself” out loud or whistle while I work, I never understood why people do it.

Get him drunk and he will recite every book he’s ever read word for word. It’s a show. Love that man.

Yes, and I try to do it well 4

It's normal for a lot of people to hum whistle or sing while doing a mundane task like raking the yard as an example.

Sometimes when I recite a few lines of a poem or from a musical number, I just can't help but be happy and sing louder especially when someone knows what I'm singing or reciting and join in with me.

Yes, I do all that even if people are around. Same goes for a LOT of people I know. Often just a sign of happiness, it's like a trait.

And coming from a musical country, it's bound to make peple of that certain country, sing!

Good for him! I sing kooky songs that I make up on the spot to my cat all the time. My dad also can make weird, crazy songs and limericks up on the spot.
