Do boomers have the right to criticize "shitpost" humor?

I've heard Boomers complain that Millennial and Gen Z humor is just "shitposting". Do they really have the right to complain about unfunny humor though? Boomers rehashed a million slight variations of "wife bad" in sitcoms for half a damn century and I'd argue that brand of humor is significantly less funny

Anyone can criticize anything. Humor is subjective.

Yes, people have the right to find something funny or not, regardless of their age. Humor is very subjective and not all of it is for everyone.

If you can criticize the "wife bad" joke, they can criticize lazily-posted gifs.

I got a shitpost in my yard.
I drop my drawers, grab the post & squat.

I'm gen z and I also despise shitpost humour, and any "humour" designed to mock and bully people. I also don't get memes.

Because band kids browsing and creating memes on reddit are comedy gold.

Yeah. Especially since shitpost humor is just a bunch of lame attempts at trying to be funny.
