Different countries have different laws, and some of the laws about names are pretty strange. You'd be wise to check the laws that apply in the country where the child is born, but it seems to me that it would be very odd if you weren't able to name a child after a deceased person. As far as I know, naming children after older - and sometimes deceased - relatives is something that's considered normal or even expected in just about every culture.

There are very few names that are deemed illegal. At least in the United States, the only names that are illegal to give to a kid are names that would make the kid have a miserable life. (IE: Adolph Hitler.)

      That's child abuse.

Honestly I'd extend it to ebonics names too. Some of those are terrible enough to be a worthless name like La-a (Ladasha)

You can name a child after a live person with no legal issues; there's especially no problem with naming them after a dead one.

Many people's middle name is from a respective relative or a non-relative respected or famous dead person.

Some people's 1st name is from a respected relative (alive or dead) or some otherwise respected or famous non-relative dead person.

    Totally legal.

Yes. Because that's not how the goverment identifies that person. By their name, the social security number is how the goverment identifies you as you with your commonly associated legal name.

We wont need to reuse social security numbers until theres a few trillion people in america.

I believe that you can name a child almost anything though in my country they can refuse a name if they believe that it can be prejudicial to the child in the future.

A lot of people name their kids after dead family members, why would it be illegal?

You can only name the baby after the dead person if you feed the baby flesh from the corpse. I don't make the rules.

If you can name your child "Apple" or even "Blanket" then you can name your child any stupid name you want.
