It seems the only path for a girl is marriage and children. But in my case I am very inclined to art and would like to dedicate my life to pursuing my passion and make a career. Is that a sin according to Christianity if being talented at something is clearly a gift bestowed from god and to marry would mean ignoring one's calling, isn't that unfair and going against his word?
I'm not religious myself, but think of it this way... why would God give you such a passion or a talent for it if he didn't want you to utilize it?
Only the most hardcore religious sects (or cults) I've heard of have ever been so strict about "a woman's place" in modern times. Society has changed. What we know about ourselves and the world around us has changed. For faith to only try to cling to the old ways and not adapt to the world in which we live is a waste of so much human potential.
Following your dreams as an artist will not be easy. I speak from experience, it's one of the most difficult things you can do. There will be hardship, and lots of competition, and you may need to work jobs you don't necessarily like to support your art.
But if it's what you're most passionate about, by all means pursue it. Life is too short not to have a dream to chase.

They're called beliefs for a reason. They're not fact. You on the other hand made something you don't know sound like fact. Are you dead? Have you seen a different afterlife, if there is one? Just to make myself clear, think and believe in what you want, I don't care. I just have a problem with statements that have no evidence behind them.
It's absolutely possible. I am a Christian and an artist and copy-editor. I'd like to still marry and be a mom someday, but not because I have to.
As an atheist, I can't comment on the religious side of it...You are absolutely entitled to believe what you want with regards to that.
As for choosing a career or a relationship, do what makes you happy.
A relationship with someone who doesn't allow you to do what you enjoy doing is a relationship with someone who needs kicking into the long grass.

Don't worry about what "God" thinks and pursue your career! If someone wants to get married and have children, that's okay too! Either way, one shouldn't rely on religion to make their decisions for them.
Fuck god hun. Religion was created by men to keep women and minorities down whilst they revel in the money and praises from their followers. Do what you like and don't worry about god. He's killed millions of people anyway and is a narcissist.

If you're still not convinced, here's an example in the Bible of a great female entrepreneur and businesswoman who creates and sells her own artisan products AND has a family - the archetypical 'wife of noble character' of Proverbs chapter 31. She is presented expressly as a good example of a woman who loves God - not as a bad one. The passage is below.
The Bible considers it a mark of excellence that this woman works, earns and provides for her family. Although she produces her textiles from within the home, her renown for her work still extends from her home into the public square ('let her works bring her praise at the city gate'). She is certainly not cloistered from public life by the business aspect of what she does - 'trade' was not carried out by phone or internet in those days - and she actively involves herself in social causes in her community ('she opens her arms to the poor'). She is 'like merchant ships, bringing her food from afar'. Merchant ships may be based at harbour, but they don't just sit pretty there. Note the 'from afar' bit. Read the passage and see.
A wife of noble character who can find?

Christianity teaches that most things that aren't inherently hurtful to people or disrespectful to God, can be done to bring credit to God and to the world he has made. It's less about the thing you're doing, and more about the attitude/motivation with which you're doing it. Are you doing it because you want to be rich and famous for yourself, or because you want to show the world that you think God is amazing and promote things that are important to God?
