Caffeine makes my depression worse?

It doesn't pep me up, it just increases my ability to think negative thoughts about myself, my family, and the future, like I'm not caffeinating myself against depression, I'm just caffeinating depression against me.

Is It Normal?

  • It can do that for me too if I drink too much it increases my anxiety and causes me to nonstop overthink. Weed does it really bad.

  • Do you also suffer from anxiety? You should minimize caffeine and talk to a psychiatrist about getting a medication to help you enjoy life more. Remember depression is simply a chemical imbalance in the brain. Humble yourself and do the right thing.

  • I think things all have a different effect on people, and what helps one person doesn't always help another and can even be detrimental. If you notice a negative change in yourself, I would decrease or cut out the caffeine.

  • Without caffiene I would see no point in life and my depression as well as my migraines would worsen.
