Bf is getting a lot of tattoos about me

my boyfriend of a month, has over 7 tattoos done on him about me. he got one done years ago representing me, a flower he found in a city i was in before we met. but we actually got together about a month ago and he’s done 7 ish tattoos representing me and has let me tAttoo. “i love you more” on his shoulder. what does this mean? i’m kind of scared if i leave him it would be bad or if he breaks up with me but i also don’t see us breaking up. he has 70 tattoos in total and plans on getting more. is this bad? what do you guys think

He sounds a bit impulsive. You should probably discuss with him that he stops getting tattoos about you, tell him it make you feel uncomfortable. He should hopefully respect that.

“my boyfriend of a month, has over 7 tattoos done on him about me”

I’m all for putting many stupid tattoos on oneself but isn’t that a little fucking crazy over a month long relationship?!

Ah I see, that’s still more than a little on the crazy obsessive side I think. But then again, I cover myself in random shit so I’m not one to judge.

Yes but not about an ex or anything. Mine are just pure randomness in random spots. Fingers and neck and shit.

Wouldn’t bother me if I had though, I’m not into the idea of covering them up. I like the history of shit, good or bad. Even if I had an ex’s name I’d just leave it and not care in the slightest that it was there. My partners may not like seeing it though haha 😂

Actually thinking about it, given he has that many on him it’s not that odd. I say normal.

If hes got 70 tats with room for more they're either all really small or he's 27 feet tall

I wouldn't get any name tattooed on my body except for the name of my cat!

I once wanted to get a tattoo of my late great dog Blackie to honor her memory. However since she's almost completely black, it probably would've turned out crappy. XD

I sometimes I think I want a tattoo of a Siamese cat. I could get an old timey heart tattoo with my cat's name on it.

Yes, I have a male, 13 year old, blue point, Siamese cat, but his papers said he was a lilac point.

I always imagined that you do have a secret little tattoo with the name of your cat.

And yes, I agree. I wouldn't even get my husband's name tattooed on me. You never know what is going to happen. But with a pet? That love is forever. Unbreakable.

Except if the pet ends up in someone else's home for some reason, they'll be loyal to that person within a few days of being fed by them. It's totally breakable much more so than a human.

That wouldn't make me feel any differently about them though. So maybe unbreakable from my side

Tattoos of partner is such a commitment isnt a ring enough? I mean divorces happen, and a ring can just be removed. That guy lacks any foresight and for that reason he should be dumped.

I believe that long term planning is key for any responsible adult. Now when I say long term planning I'm just saying to have a gist in where you want to be in 10 years and layout the groundwork fo said picture. 10~30% to savings is always a good investment for the future.

I think you're dating a breathing mural instead of a person.

It's fine if he loves you but you should honestly should tell him no more tattoos.

Someone with that many tattoos is either very self-confident or very insecure. Either way it's not a good thing.

You say you've known him for all of a month, so it's absurd to say that a tattoo he got years ago represents you. Believing that it does suggests a state of mind completely detached from reality.

If you've known each other for a month, him already having another seven tattoos mentioning you by name suggests he's very immature and probably seriously stupid. Nobody with an ounce of sense permanently marks their body with the name of a girlfriend after just a few weeks.

Or, rather than him being very dumb and having problems with impulse-control, he could be highly manipulative. Already you say that you're worried about him regretting the tattoos if you were to break up, and it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that he got the tattoos precisely because he wanted to guilt you into staying with him, regardless of what may go down between you two in the future.

As for what "I love you more" means, maybe that means he loves you more than any of the thirty girlfriends he's had in the last eighteen months. But the most obvious interpretation is that he believes he loves you more than you love him. That would be yet another sign of emotional immaturity and a manipulative personality. No mature person in a healthy, grownup relationship tries to keep score about who loves whom more. When someone does that, it's a sign of insecurity and often an attempt to pressure the other person into behaving in ways that please the score-keeper.

It's his body, and he has the right to disfigure it in whatever ways he chooses. I assume you're not pressuring him into getting tattoos, so you bear no responsibility whatsoever for how he looks now or in ten, twenty or forty years. It will be entirely down to him if he then looks like a pavement chalk drawing after a heavy shower.

It'd be funny, now he's stuck with all these tattoos of someone who dumped him.
