Better job between a transcriptionist or a software engineer?

I'm in a situation where trying to get a home job is best, but I don't know which of these jobs might be better to aim for?

    Transcriptionist sucks and doesn't pay well. It's a lot of time spent for so little money.

    Legal transcriptionist tend to have steady jobs and income.

    Software engineers tend to make more money; but, the jobs are often a lot more hours per week - and you must stay up with technology or get left behind.

    The other thing is that almost all engineers get downsized out past age 55 (most by age 50 in fact), and then forced into the gig economy. You are also likely to have to find a new job every 3-5 years if you want to move up.

    People who can write software usually can find good jobs or work as consultants.

      So, transcriptionist would be better for someone who isn't super tech savvy?

        Likely... as far as a basic job.

        There are so many variables and options out there.
