At what age do people generally “figure out their life”?

Just wondering, so at what age exactly would a person “Have Life Figured Out”? They say you can’t predict the future or know what’s going to happen later on?? I feel confident I know where I will end up in 35 more years? How old were you when you had YOUR “Life Figured Out”?

Never because life will throw something at you no matter how much you try to stabilize it.

In all sorts of ages, some do at the age of 20 and others do so at 40. It does not matter as long as you are happy, a time spent happily is a time well spent as they say. I am not even at college-age yet so I could not tell you about my experience cause I have none.

As far as determining your purpose in life I’d say if you haven’t done it by age 30 you’re never going to. And some people never do. But as for having life figured out, that’s impossible. To quote Shakespeare: “It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”.

Age 26 I started changing the way I viewed things. I realized at that point that my whole life I had thought like a loser. If you think like a loser you're gonna lose. I always had excuses for everything before hand. At that point I felt all of a sudden
holy shit my dad was right all along...

Its like your ego when you're young wants you to think your parents are out dated and dont understand things. Like a rebellious attitude that the world isn't fair and you're like protesting it in a weird way. But then you just get poor and no one really gives a shit.

I'm 44 and I feel like I'm 20 yrs late figuring out my life. I played around and just lived for the weekends up until about 8 yrs ago. I have a job and a regular, debt ridden middle class life, and I'm still trying to figure out exactly what to do with the rest of my time here. Good news is I'm having more personal breakthroughs than ever so maybe I'm on the right track now, better late in getting moving than never.

Depends on their environment. If they are secluded and self sufficient it might be real soon. If they are dependent on others maybe never. Certain people react differently to changes.

    Mid-Late 20s that's my goal.

Small crappy house but paying it off. On my own insurance, cell phone, internet plans.

Only thing I'm still relying on my parents for is advice.

30 is definitely a cut off when your shit should be together. Makes sense to me. 0-18 you are a kid. 18-21 training wheels of being an adult. 21-25 you realize how much shit you need to learn as a functioning adult. 25-29 start being a functional adult.

That's my timeline but everyone's different.
