They have a lot of symptoms of mental illness. One, they are very sadistic. They can not feel empathy for people they bullied. Two, they are very narcissistic and manipulate. People argue that bullies are insecure, but that isn't always the case. They literally have even more symptoms of illness. So, what do you think, are bullies mentally ill and should be put in an asylum, in a straitjacket, and in a padded room so they can get help or not?

Most bullies aren't psychopaths, in my experience most people who continue to act like bullies into adulthood are just dicks who are bad at life cause nobody likes them so they start living in a narcisistic fantasy world. Their high opinion of themselves doesn't match everyone elses that they're just a loser and an asshole so they lash out at people.
It won't be much longer before there's no one classified with some form of mental disorder if we keep this up.

Also what you are describing are the symptoms of a psychopath, while some bullies probably are psychopaths most are not, they're just dicks who usually use it as a coping mechanism for their own shitty lives.
They have PTSD from the time they were bullied. Most of times bullies have suffered from bullying themselves.
Bullies aren't any more ill than the rest of us, they're just more prone to feeling shame. They often have high-esteem, but it is there insecurities they carry that causes them to lash out in hopes of hiding them.
They're ashamed of something about themselves, and horrified about others finding out what it is. Shame is a terrible state to be in, it's worse than guilt and only a little better than death.
I think they are just inept socially. Everyone tries to establish dominance in order to find their social rank to the best of their abilities. Bullies are just trying to do the same thing but they have poor judgment on how to accomplish it.
I don't think most are mentally ill as almost everyone has been both the bully and been bullied themselves. Most outgrow it quickly. Assholes never do.
