Am i the only messy female?

I have a bad habit of leaving things around and forgetting to put my things back in the right place after using. I am not hygienically messy. Been dealing with this since I was young kid. I'm 21 now and I hear its a common thin with ADD/ADHD people like myself. It is not that easy. My mom says that guys don't like scatterbrained messy females. :/

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I've more or less come to terms with it, but my wife's untidiness used to drive me nuts when we first met.

I spent nearly a decade in the Navy, and the culture of "a place for everything, and everything in its place" got pretty deeply ingrained in my nature. My wife, on the other hand, has an almost phobic dislike of order and organisation, possibly as a reaction to her mother being a neat-freak.

I think leaving stuff lying around wherever you happen to drop it makes life more difficult for yourself, since you have to remember where you left something the next time you need it. My wife, on the other hand, seems to enjoy the challenge of searching. Over the years, we've adjusted to each other: I've learned to chill out a little and accept that she is who she is, and she's learned to be a little better about putting stuff back where it belongs.

Assuming you have other, more positive qualities, it's very likely you will meet guys who can tolerate or even like your messiness.

Messy is easily remedied, no biggy. Just dont be dirty or nasty.

I think more people have this problem than you think

Messy isn't good, you should always pick up after yourself.

I keep everything clean but it's generally chaos, with some things pedantically over organised. My boyfriend has OCD, so I'm having to learn to be better. He hasn't dumped me over it.

Of course you're not the only messy female! I've lived with a few & was in a relationship with a woman who lived in utter chaos with clothes all over the bedroom floor: it used to give me the shits when she'd get out of the shower in the morning, select clothing off the floor and to off to work looking so neat and tidy!

My daughter and grand-daughter are both very messy, as is one of my grandsons. I'm messy in some areas but after a while I get sick of looking for things, which is such a waste of time & energy and then I have a big blitz and tidy everything up.

I'm uncomfortable in very messy untidy environments, so just as well it's only my small amount of mess I have to live with and no-one elses

Why in our society is it ok to be a dog lady but not a cat lady?🙄

This is so me. And everytime i tidy up my room and put things where they are supposed to be, it's very unnatural to me and i start to lose stuff even more and then i make mess in my room because of the searching and everything goes all over again.

Hahaha..... i am ADD, picky and organized. My wife is not, according to her, she is messy and disorganized in the house but can do a great job for others or at work. I used to help her because if i keep doing things for her she will get even more messy. I still have to push her to do her part even for her own stuff.

Attention Deficit Disorder. I've never been diagnosed, but sometimes my attention span is really short.

I am kinda the same way. But I look at it like the word "Organized" is NOT in my vocabulary. (This is print so that's different,I hope). But I usually cannot get organized if my life depended on it.
