Absolutely hate marijuana

I hate it more than meth, crack cocaine, and even heroin. If I am dating someone and they mention using it recently it's an instant no. I hate it in ways that no other drug could possibly achieve; even alcohol doesn't have a mythical reputation as being a cure all with no downsides to the point in which it's just slapped into candies with no care to even properly label them. Weed itself is the worst offender with addicts too because many will sit there and tell you that their habit of smoking it 24/7 isn't an addiction because stopping doesn't give you withdrawal even though it meets all the criteria for addiction to use it the way they do.

If I did use drugs seeing the way people use marijuana would be enough to make me question using them at all.
It's depressing to see people thinking they're having the time of their lives while to everyone else they're catatonic zombies.

Is It Normal?

  • It is kind of funny seeing someone who smokes it 24/7 swear that it's not addictive.

  • It’s far from the worst drug but it is an incredibly misunderstood one when it comes to many who use it. People often adjust to it in a way such that they slowly forget what normal functioning is. The problem being that because it doesn’t impair you in the short term as dramatically as something like alcohol it is much more insidious when it comes to its effect on the mind. You’ve got some quite common underlying mental illnesses out there that just so happen to react very negatively with weed.

It’s a fine drug, but only for the right people. The use is far too widespread throughout the population, especially on still developing brains.

    • alcohol has a harsh physical penalty for over consumption while weed says good morning smoke me now and all day

it becomes way too easy to do just that and not much else

      • Well yeah, the weed doing a lot of damage to the psyche without anything really telling the person to stop, that’s my point.

  • I hate all drugs and alcohol and all other addictions all they did is being me down. Grey bring anyone and everyone down if you let them. That's why started strongman training

  • I dated a guy who was like that about weed once, he said it was because he was “abused” as a child by someone who smoked weed, though I strongly suspect he just made it up.

    • My negative experiences with marijuana were more of a slow burn from being around people who used it frequently. It didn't start out as an hardline disdain for it but it gradually grew into that as I saw more and more of the consequences of its use; paired with the attitudes surrounding its use.

Even though I hate it now I am at least willing to say that people who use it sparingly don't pose a problem for anyone.

    • I knew a chick who was like that about alcohol, and bars. She didn't like being in bars, because her parents were abusive alcoholics. I knew her from ACOA so I know she wasn't bullshitting.

  • Bullshit it's not addictive I've seen it bring a grown man to tears from quitting cold turkey.

  • I find people who worship marijuana as some kind of " gift from god " to be incredibly annoying.

  • Can’t stand potheads

  • I don't like being high/drunk/intoxicated in any way/shape/or form, so I agree. I don't care if others do it though.

  • I hate the smell of it. But if someone ate it as edibles, I'd be okay with it.

  • I always thought weed was gay.

People tell me it helps to relax. Like n*gga I don’t wanna relax. I want to get 40 hours of work done in 2 hours. I want to scream and yell and run down the street like a crackhead.

    • Some weed is really more of a relaxing, freak out for one hour, chill for 4 hours and wake up fine and dandy at 6am. The working mans weed.

I think it should be legal. Doesnt really hamper society as badly as alcohol does.

  • Weed addiction definetly has withdrawal symptons, idk what they're talking about

  • It sounds to me like you have had some bad experiences with people who use cannabis, theirbehaviors. Perhaps you've internalized those bad experiences, and you are unconsciously projecting the people, and their behaviors onto everyone, and everything associated with cannabis, because you're trying to protect, and shield yourself from from future possible bad experiences? 🤔

    • It's half actually watching people slowly rot while insisting there's nothing wrong with the "whatever makes you happy" attitude that it tends to encourage and half the flippancy modern culture treats it.

It'd be one thing if they treated it like alcohol and at least took some level of care to ensure anyone who's getting it knows they're getting alcohol but I have unironically been handed pot candies at a work event with no care to tell me what's in them or even ask if I wanted pot.

  • I wish people knew the difference between "safer" and "safe".

Marijuana isn't addictive like heroin but it is addictive. And because it's been over-demonized it's now being over-loved and people will plug their ears to any downsides to it.

Also, smoking a bowl and smoking a 91% THC pen are *NOT* the same thing. That crap can make people psychotic.

  • And weed does give you withdrawals as well. I had a daily habit for years and when I didnt have weed I felt I was gonna have a mental breakdown and had nausea and body aches. If you google marijuana withdrawals symptoms the whole list comes up.

    • Took about 3 weeks to get clean from the worst of the withdrawls. Still crave it badly time to time. It was just so damn fun.

Though my reaction time definitely took a hit even when I wasnt high. Two months after going cold turkey, i felt like I responded quicker to events.
