Your parents told you that you were adopted!

What would be your reaction, or at least, what option did you like the most?

  • I wouldn't care really. They were still the ones who raised me. Wouldn't change a thing.

Going from your options, I'll go with So... what's for dinner?

  • I'd throw a party. Two years later, when the party was finally dying down, I'd try and find my real parents.

  • "Oh, I see. That explains why I am a different race than you two."

    That would be my reaction.

  • first of all i look identical to my father. if i was adopted i would be grateful bc being put up for adoption means that you dont have to deal with terrible parenting and you got to have a chance at a normal life.

  • I wouldn't be mad at my adoptive parents that retarded. I'd probably be more angry at my real parents.. My ads adopted so I have no idea what half of my family is like, and I really wish I knew what background I'm half of. Like maybe I've been Italian all this time and not known it.. Haha it's weird

  • When my mom told me I was adopted, it really didn't affect me until I got older. The older I got, the more curious I was as to what my birth parents were like...the only thing I knew was that my mom was a 16 year old slut.

  • When I was 10 my mom and sister told me I was adopted, and I FREAKED OUT! I was gonna go on a mission to find my real parents, but then they started laughing at me when I began to cry, and said that they were just joking!

THAT WAS THE WORST JOKE EVER FOR A 10 YR OLD GIRL!

  • I'd be shocked. But i think your real parents would be the ones who raised you, loved you and cared for you. Genes dont matter.

  • I'd call them cowards for not having the guts to tell me sooner. They should have known that I don't identify family by blood alone. They raised me to be a loving individual, regardless. They should have known better. And then I'd tell them how lucky they were to have found me and give them a hug.

  • When I was moving out at 18 my mom told me younger brother not to worry about it coz I'd been adopted anyway. But, it was to be a big secret and he wasn't to tell me. He was 12 and bursting to tell me! After making all sorts of excuses she finally let him upstairs and he came into my room and told me. I said, "Oh yeah OK."
When he went downstairs my mom said,
    "You told her didn't you?"
He said, "Oh I just had to."
"That's OK" she said," You were a test tube baby."
My other brother chipped in with, "A womb with a view."

    I wasn't really adopted, unfortunately.

  • I really wouldn't mind. I'd wonder who my real parents were, but I wouldn't hate them for putting me up for adoption, because I'm sure that they had their reasons. I wouldn't think any less of the adopting parents either, but I would have liked to know earlier. Then I'd look up my birth parents, and try and find them.
