Yes, it's just being desperate. Even if you love someone, that does not mean that they love you and if they repeatedly deny your advances then the logical thing to do is to give up and move on. By being persistent, you'll just annoy them. Love is a good thing, but operating entirely on your emotional desires even when it's a bad idea makes you a weak-willed individual.
