Cuss words or naughty words are considered such since they have been given negative connotation from frequent misuse of the word. For example the word "Bitch" is the accurate term for a female dog. However has often been used to refer to women. Female dogs will have sex with any male dog so basically you would be referring to that female as a "Whore".
However the term has evolved over the years to just mean a very unpleasant person. So that is why a lot of words are considered cuss/naughty words. Not that the words themselves are bad. "Bastard" is the accurate term for a child born out of wedlock.
However since it was considered wrong to have sex before marriage the child themselves would be considered a sin and something no one wanted to associate with. Now this has become a term to mean a rude despicable person who people do not want to be around. Since of of course no one wants to be around a "Bastard" since they are the equivalent to an untouchable in the Indian community.
Anything else that did not originate from a true meaning is simply slang. Those who do not use anything besides slang come across as far less educated. As they do not know the proper words and sentence structures to speak correctly.
