Would you want to work beside a woman

  • Ooooo! I didn't expect that one, I thought you meant in general, which obviously if it was the case I wouldn't care...But in those things, yeah.

I would care because firstly, as a firefighter, you're going to have to carry heavy equipment, and if you can't carry it or help carry heavy equipment then that puts more work on me, which I may not be able to do by myself and that would put the public at risk.

As a cop, definitely not. If my partner is female and I get toppled by two guys, I can't expect her to be able to handle herself unless she has a weapon, let alone help me. I'd need a partner that would be able to keep me safe just as much as I could keep them safe from physical danger.

As for in the army, again, meh. If I'm unconcious I'll be reliant on her lifting my ass up with all my gear on my body and carry me to safety.

Obviously this is a general view. I don't doubt there are some women who are fully capable of these roles, and if they passed the tests to be in those positions like men do (which means no easier tests) then I wouldn't care if that person was female.

So yes, I agree with you. When it comes to being physically reliant on a person in dangerous situations I would much prefer a guy as my backup.
