Cry in a BMW. I'm pretty emotionally stable, whatever I'm crying about in the BMW will pass. Whatever I would be laughing about can't possibly outweigh the suckiness of having to ride a bicycle.
In terms of sad+rich vs happy+poor, I'm still voting sad+rich. I never really liked this metaphor, it assumes the rich person has a crippling disorder that keeps him depressed for life, and the poor person is so unfazed by their terrible living conditions that they just laugh and play all day long. Not very common in real life.
