Would you rather be very rich, or less rich but also famous?

If you had the choice between being given 20 million dollars, or being given just 1 million dollars but to also be world famous, which would you choose?

You'd be widely famous across the world, but you wouldn't be extremely famous. You'd be about as famous as Giovanni Ribisi or Amy Smart. So you'd be able to go shopping without a hoarde of fans attacking you, you might get one or two people asking for an autograph on an average day out, but that's it. But you'd still be able to get into vip areas of exclusive clubs and you'd have a lot of twitter followers.

You wouldn't be famous for any negative reason like being an instagram model or reality tv star or just being "famous for being famous". You'd be famous for an actual skill like being a sports star, singer, actor, etc. (You wouldn't actually have that skill though, it's just that a lot of fake footage of you performing those skills would be fabricated and everyone will have their memories altered to remember seeing you perform live).

You'd be retired from that career now and would have to stay retired (even if you think you actually are skilled enough to release a new album or act in a movie), but pretty much everyone who knows about you would still respect and think positively of you.

I'd rather have $1 million and be world famous 2
I'd rather have $20 million but not be famous 35

As an introvert I totally agree, i would enjoy my life spending my cash on anything I want not worrying about running out of it, but I won't want others to chase after me. Lots of famous people also have beggar fans begging their money.

But like I said in the description, you wouldn't be so famous as to be harrassed in the street. Like you'd only get one or two people asking for an autograph on an average day out (I'll add that in now too to make it more clear).

I don't want fame. Give me my money and let me enjoy it in peace.

One million dollars is not nearly enough money to put up with inconvenience, and burden of being world famous!

I already exceeded $1 million. The more you got, the more imperative it is to fly under the radar. I value my anonymity almost as much as my investments.

Why the hell would I want fame?! So people stalk me, kidnap family members for ransom, blackmail me and drag my name through the mud?! No thanks! I don't want to give autographs, interviews, or anything. I want to be unknown, just another stranger you pass by on the street. A rich stranger.

I just want money. Eventually people are gonna talk about me, cause I'd have a big car collection and some are gonna wonder how I can afford all those cars, but nothing more than that. And I'm not gonna be an idiot and buy overly flashy stuff like a Lamborghini for example. Hypercars mark you as a target... big, fat, walking wallet - easy target. And they ride terrible.

I don't want to be famous. Not in the "Me Too" era. Famous and rich are ways to get slapped with a false charge that your character will never recover from, in the modern world.

Fame would be fun for a bit, but then become a hindrance.

I have a love hate relationship with money. I need it, don't make enough of it, and I wish more people would barter, but I don't give a flying fuck about fame, so I'll take the money. I'd harldy spend any so the rest would be left to my family, or just shared while I'm still here cus chances are, I'll die first.

It's hard to buy the level of fame that a film or music or sports career can get you though. A film/song lasts forever, people will be playing that shit in 80 years time. Same with a sports career, you'll be in the record books forever for all sports fans to read about.
