  • Too philosophical. Did anyone ever consider the possibility of insane, but rich? Now I don't mean insane as in dangerous; but insane as in mentally handicapped, or unstable.

In America, poor means you're very unlikely to live if you come down with a disease that can only be cured if caught in it's infancy. Fortunately, if you're happy, and can remain happy despite the fool you are being made out to be when you know inside that you are not, it can be enough to live.

It is impossible for me to be under-the-bridge poor and happy, but it is possible for me to be rich and depressed, or unhealthy perhaps a better word. On the other hand, I have seen the mentally-handicapped under the bridge, and happy, but they inevitably die of some strange disease.

Nonetheless, I would choose poor but happy as so many have gone down with a smile on their face despite a dreadful life-time of pain.

Most of what I just uttered here is complete nonsense, off-the-top-of-my-head thinking. Just my disclaimer and tomorrow I may feel differently.

    Great question.
