Need more context to answer. Some prisons are worse than others, and thee's always the chance to escape. OTOH, some prisons are so bad you probably wouldn't last long anyway.

And then some ways of implementing the death penalty are worse than others.

I would rather recieve the death penalty if I did something out of the question for I believe I deserve it, how ever I want the experience of escaping from prison, the adrenaline, the epiphanies and stuff. It may not actually be that "fun" but I may never know.
