Depends on a lot of things. If I dont find them and their story to be questionable I might. My family once picked up an old man. We considered leaving him but discussed if we should give him a ride. It was an old man who needed to get to his home. He was very friendly and said how he didn't like the old folks home. So we gave him a ride. I think there is more risk for the person hitching a ride vs the one giving it. Since when you hitch a ride a lot of people can use that to kidnap people and a lot of serial killers tend to look for "Easy targets". Lost traveler, perfect target.
Wouldn't a better title for this be: "Would you like to be raped and killed?"
I would here were I live. 9 out of 10 times they are hikers off the Appalachian Trail. Not too mention it is pretty easy to tell with the hiker gear they are carrying.
I do all the time to young people coming to the beach. Normally they are students living on pinuts from the university 100 miles from here.
It depends on who it is, how old they are, and what story they give me for why they were stuck, and who I was with in the car.
I would as I used to do that all the time and I know how bad it is when people drive past in an empty car
what the fuck do i look like picking up a hitchhicker am i the only one who has seen the movie "hitchhicker".
I've done it. I didn't get murdered. The guy just needed a ride like two blocks over. It was pouring down rain and I felt bad. It's not like he was carrying an axe, a chainsaw, or a body in a garbage bag.
No, but my mom did it one time when she was dropping me off to school. DUMBASS. I was so scared.
If I knew the person and they were walking yes I would pick them up but if it was a stranger No I wouldnt pick em up.
I picked up two. It was a young couple who found themselves stranded on a lonely mountain pass. I'm not sure what possesed me to stop but they were nice and very grateful. I'm likely to do it again, the situation just rarely presents itself.
I'd be more likely not to, than to pick up one. I would consider it if certain factors were present, like if he/she doesn't look like a psychopathic serial killer.
i have on many occasions but not now. if i saw someone hitching i would always stop but now i drive on. one time a man said hang on and he whistled in the bushes and a huge dog jumped in with him. many stories no near misses. too dangerous i think
