I live on a tropical island. Why would I change?
Too hot, rampant poverty, too many bugs, corrupt government, obnoxious tourists, lack of goods & services and malaria.

You just described South Carolina, and most other states as well.
I've never heard of malaria in the South Carolina. The poverty and filth of the worst parts of the USA are no match for the "nicest" parts of the carribean.
Can I live in Iran? Freedom isn't necessary to exist
