Glad you asked. 'Status' is a blanket term for a bunch of qualities:
Physical height and race. Your voice, your hair.
Muscle mass, physical strength and appearance.
Being hygienic, understanding style and wearing clothes that fit you.
Having money, not being cheap. The universal sign of having value.
Being inherently interesting, able to start conversation and take a genuine interest in people.
So by this measure, we can assume women are very attracted to men who are taller, more muscular, more fashionable, richer and more interesting than they are.
If you're a guy you realize we don't care about most of those things when it comes to attractive women.
would you? mostly men.......

I do agree that most guys dont care about most of those things, I wouldnt say though that girls care about those things either
I truely believe that if a girl likes a guy for his personality and morales (caring about her, ect) then she wont care about those things
But of course this applys to most people, regardless of gender
I don't judge men based on anything but personality and I personally don't like muscles it freaks me out

Just to clarify attraction is an instant, subconcious judgement we have no control over.
As for muscles, don't picture Mr Universe. What I'm talking about is a six pack and adonis belt here, which few girls will find freaky.
A little bit of muscle cant freak you out
