Don't leave him. He messed up, and he shouldn't have hit you, but his apology seemed very sincere. He apologized to you, your parents, and his parents. He definitely regrets it and wishes he could take it back. To leave him over this would show that you aren't a forgiving person, and the emotional pain that he would go through would hurt 10 million times worse than that slap. Just forgive him and let it go. He said he's going to start taking his medication again which is good. Now if it does happen again, you might consider it, but for now forgive him. What he did was terrible, but everyone makes mistakes, and everyone who apologizes deserves forgiveness.
