I kind of think being a guy would be fun. But overall, I enjoy being a girl. There are a bunch of guys who are held in high esteem as the best marchers in our band, but there's only one girl that gets constantly called out for great technique...That's me. I think I'm able to set a better example to others by being a girl--other girls in band identify with me more, and I've heard from several of them that they see me as someone with a level of ability that they hope to achieve someday. Even though I'm a woodwind, I don't think the same thing could be possible if I were a guy.
