Much as it might be a good idea, it would never succeed. Even if you could gather enough people to start a revolution, other UN and NATO countries would have intervene and help crush the revolutionaries. There are too many countries with a vested interest in maintaining status quo in the US.
It wouldn't be American Civil War II, it would be World War III.
Capitalism wouldn't end either. It would be taken over by the Europeans if the US ever gave it up.
The only way we can make societal improvement, especially in the US, is to play the system.
