Would you ever feel the need to carry and own more than one cell phone

I've considered getting a secondary phone, so that I could experiment with rooting my current phone which requires it to be completely wiped.

I use two cellphones because one was made in japan and can’t interface with America’s celltowers (apparently that was a thing) and my other one is able to work but is a really shitty phone but I don’t want to buy another one because my Japanese one works great on a WiFi connection.

I have to have two simply because my normal carrier doesn't have service where I work. Otherwise it would be foolish to spend the money.

I have two purely because mine died when I was in the US, so I needed to replace it, and because it was cheap , it's network locked, so I couldn't use it when I got back to Aus. Pretty stupid.
