  • I've done it, but it probably wasn't worth the trouble. However, every person, and situation is different of course.

  • Sure. My current relationship started out as a LDR, and we eventually moved in together.

Yes, I did have previous LDRs that failed and learned from. However, this one may have worked due to how understanding we both were with each others time; like if he doesn't see me online he'll know I'm busy, sleep, or at work and vice versa. Plus, sex wasn't a big deal to us.

  • Me and an ex tried a LDR when we went to different universities. It failed and I'd probably not do that again. I'd definitely never consider a LDR with somebody I hadn't met in person several times.

  • I tried before he only lived a hour away but we never got many chances to hangout. I have to spend more time with someone to grow stronger feelings and it just couldn’t work out so I ended it. But that was just one reason I ended it. But distance made nothing easier.

  • I was in a ldr for a year.
Wish the one I love would be in one with me now.

  • Out of sight out of mind...
Will 98% go wrong sooner or later

  • Not again. She lived about 1000 miles away here in the US. I could afford to fly her to see me or fly to see her often, so that wasn’t a huge problem. But the distance and time apart just sucks and makes building and maintaining a relationship really hard. We did it for over two years. I would not recommend it to anyone, seriously.

  • Long distance relationships are a time waste at best, an excuse not to form real relationships at worst. Something like 95% of social interaction is non-verbal. Text messaging is probably something like 2% that of a real, in-person conversation.

People in LDRs need to value their time and attention more.

  • I did it, and we're married now with a kid. We had to work in separate countries for a long time.

Works for some people and not for others. Depends on the people and their patience level.

  • I've tried and failed. It's not my thing, distance makes me forget people.

  • If they can make it work.
I think more often than not it is wishful thinking.

  • Sexting and jurking off on camera again and again is boring

  • Long distance never works out but there's always that "slim" chance.
